Jerry Jones' Overextended Role as an Owner

After the past few weeks, the Dallas Cowboys' season is in jeopardy. The suspension of Adam Jones, along with their start quarterback out for the next 4 weeks, the Cowboys are truly hurting. Now most reporters would question the coach, and ask him what he is going to do about these events, and put it on his back to still lead the team. When it comes to the Cowboys however, most reporters have been questioning the owner Jerry Jones as to what he's going to do in order to keep the winning sanctity as a team.

Intro

In today's sports world, a lot of the decisions are being made by those who have the checkbooks: the owners. From Mark Cuban's extensive love of basketball and his Dallas Mavericks, to Al Davis' apparrant continuous malcontent with his Oakland Raiders from year to year, every sports teams' owner carries a special bond along with their team.
I want to look at these owners' roles when it comes to the teams they own. This includes their hiring and firing techniques and trends, the interest (or lack there of) when it comes to taking care of players and fans, as well as their contributions to their team and community.

To start this blog officially I MUST comment on the recent decisions made in the Oakland Raiders' organization by owner Al Davis. The following article describes his decision:

This article shows first hand an owners involvement. However, I think this is negative. Who fires a coach 3 games into the season? Also, this is a major distraction for the franchise. A lot of internal affairs are handled just that way: INTERNALLY. Al Davis' lack of digression is not a good thing for a man of his stature and title.
